“Those who don’t master AI will find themselves replaced by it,” warns computer science professor Robin S. Rowe, host of Ask Your Question. The live talk series is hosted as a Zoom call on Monday nights at 8pm. Takes your questions and offers thought-provoking discussion. Participants ask questions and make suggestions for positive change in Beverly Hills schools.
Professor Rowe is a candidate for Beverly Hills Unified School District Board in the November 2020 election. Please vote.
“The the Beverly Hills School Board is being sued for diverting $16 million from education and then trying to conceal it,” says Rowe. “They’ve wasted our money on politics, on suing and losing unwinnable court cases and lobbying in Washington. Money earmarked for education has been spent on everything but. If that wasted $16 million was instead spent on teachers, that’d be a $4,000 raise per year for the next eight years for our teachers. And, don’t imagine the waste has stopped. The School Board is still spending money on whatever it likes and accomplishing nothing. A School Board consumed with playing politics, not education.”
“The incumbent says he likes it that students are leaving our schools, that education is declining in Beverly Hills,” says Rowe. “Says fewer students is a good thing because it’s more money per student for those who are left. We are spending more per student than the typical private school in California, have the most expensive public school system in the world. And yet, we rank #57 among local schools. Who is responsible? We have good teachers and good students. It’s a School Board that embraces decline and wastes money. It’s not too late to turn it around, that families will again be moving to Beverly Hills because we have the best schools. Let’s make Beverly Hills schools great.”
